Has anyone ever said that your art or maybe a picture you've drawn reminds them of someone else's style/drawing? Everytime someone says this to me (and even if they mean it in a good way) it pisses me off to no end. I mean, I try my hardest to be myself and develop a style that is my own. Whenever I draw something, it usually isn't inspired by anyone elses art, but rather music, or events in life, etc...I enjoy being original with my ideas and styles and whenever someone mentions anything such as this, it makes me want to undo everything, no matter how hard I've worked to achieve it.

My question to you guys is, how do/would you react if someone said your art reminded them of another person's work? Would you be happy about it because you admire the said artist? Or would you be infuriated (like I am) because you strive to be yourself as hard as you can? Please answer truthfully.

Starting over completely is something I've been pondering for a long time. Creating a new account would be rather stupid, seeing as I have a subscription with 5 more months to burn. If DA wasn't an ass and allowed you to transfer subscriptions, heck I would've started over a long time ago!
I'm thinking sometime in October I'll leave this account and begin fresh, being welcomed as a "new deviant" by strangers.

If you haven't already noticed, I began storing alot of my stuff (I'll probably store the rest anyway). Seeing that I have an empty page motivates me to add something to it. And it's just the fact that I hate my art in general.

oh man I need to find some fitting usernames. I have some ideas but not knowing whether or not they're taken is an issue, especially in an incredibly crowded community like this. :(
